Hibiscus Surf School Qualifications

Due to Hibiscus Surf School’s excellent reputation with both locals and travelers, we have become very popular and the team has grown every year. Rebecca and Guy receive many applications for surf instructors, and have the ability to hand-select the very best. Hibiscus instructors are qualified by the International Surfing Association and/or the Association of Surfing Professionals. This includes a Bronze Medallion Lifeguard award. Hibiscus is a Surfing New Zealand Approved Surf School, and endorsed by Water Safety New Zealand.

Hibiscus Surf Instructors – Fun and Professional!

Many surf schools/instructors have qualifications on paper, but Rebecca and Guy feel this isn’t enough. Hibiscus Instructors are required to have high levels of friendliness, experience, professionalism, values, communication skills, and surfing ability. Every member of the team strives to understand our customer’s needs, and exceed your expectations. We complete regular ongoing training. Most importantly, every Hibiscus Instructor is passionate about sharing their love of surfing with others. We love what we do! We believe this combination allows our customers to have the most professional, fun, and successful surfing experience possible.

    Hi 🙂

I was thinking of getting my sister a surf lesson gift card for Christmas and just had a few questions. Does the group ‘Mahalo’ lesson cost $95 for any number of people between 2 & 4? Or is it $95 per person? And does this include gear hire?

    • Hibiscus Surf School says:

      Hi Amy,

Thanks for your comment! Guy has emailed you all the details, but I wanted to answer your question on the website in case anyone else has the same question. It’s $95 per person and includes all the gear. It also comes with a free 1 hour extra hire, so you can keep surfing after your lesson or come back another day and practice your new surfing skills. Please call or email if you decide to get the vouchers.

      Thanks 🙂 Rebecca

      Hi Rochelle,

Thanks for your comment, you can hire a surf board with us for $25 that gives you 2 hours, if you’d like to add a wetsuit to that it will be $10 for the 2 hours.
